Some would ban the bomb, others plant more trees, but like H.G. Wells I believe that the world would be a far happier place with more adults on bicycles.

Born in South Africa in 1980, I moved to England at the end of 1997 and have been living and loving it here ever since. At university I studied Economics and Politics, where I didn't learn that bicycles are the future of the human race. I live and work in London, advising corporates on merger, acquisition and refinancing transactions.

I can't wait to wheelie across the equator!

Perhaps it's to escape from the first world crush? (of course!) Or a chance in a lifetime? (Oh, how cliched!) Or is it time to give something back? (Definitely overdue!) Hopefully I'll know the answer when Simon and I roll into Cape Town...?

Also born in Cape Town (a little while before Simon!) I've lived in south London since moving to England in '99. I started cycling “quite late” at the age of 17 and hurried quickly into racing at 19, competing for university-, provincial- and domestic-teams before burning out by the age of 24!

Officially I'm an architect, but I've been known to get "side-tracked" by making my own clothes, designing lamps, bags, etc...

Regardless of the distractions, I always come back to cycling. I bike to work, to Sainbury's, to the movies, to Kent...
though none of it will really prepare me for the rougher roads and heavier loads of Africa!
